About Me
Hi! My name is Andrew. I’m a game designer and esports coach. I’m from San Antonio and found my way to Dallas to explore the world of game design, esports and all things creative. One of my goals is to create a game that is extremely rewarding for high skilled players while still being easy to pick up and play.
Project Description
Project Speed is a first person game of capture the flag. The goal of the project is to create movement that works fluidly with level design. The project uses Unreal Engine 4 to create movement like wall running, sliding, sprinting and jumping off walls to allow the player to gain momentum in the quest to capture the flag.
What is one piece of advice you would provide to new ATEC students?
Learn how you work when by yourself. The hardest thing during my 4 years was transitioning from in person, to online, and back to in person. It was non stop change in learning methods and it took a long time to learn how I could go about being productive towards next week’s goal and onward.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
There’s multiple places I can see myself in 10 years. I want to pursue so many things, but there’s only so many hours in the day. I think the one place I don’t see myself in 10 years is doing Game Design unfortunately. While I’ll still be using my skills, my passion has died down and I think I wanna take my skills and transfer them to something along the cinematography side. Maybe I’ll utilize the Cinematic shooting that Unreal Engine can do. I also have a passion for esports, but I’ll always see myself doing that on the side as games will always be my escape from the real world stress.
