About Me

Hello everyone! My name is Piper LeDoux, and I am a graduating senior in ATEC’s Animation pathway. I am an art enthusiast with a passion for visual development and pre-production design! I love drawing and painting, as well as playing video games. I feel I have learned and grown so much as an artist throughout my time here at UT Dallas, and it has been a joy being here and sharing that growth with my friends and peers!

Project Description

My project will be a Concept Art project, 4 fully painted environments/scenes that center around a central theme: Experiencing the world again through the eyes of a child. the digital paintings will be in pairs of 2, each pair having their own theme. Where once piece showcases reality, the other gives a view into the children’s imagination once more.

What is one piece of advice you would provide to new ATEC students?

Trust the process! When you first begin, you many feel like your art or your work is inadequate or not good enough. Please be kind to yourself, and remember that art is a process! Give yourself that time to grow and learn and develop your skill, and you will see at the end of your journey at ATEC how far you’ve come and how much progress you’ve made!

What’s something that is always on your work desk?

Too. Many. Sticky notes. Everywhere!

What will you miss most about UTD after graduation?

I’m going to miss the community and the vibes in the ATEC building. I just loved hanging out there and seeing all my classmates and friends in the open lab, looking at each other’s work and helping each other out. Those moments were precious!

What’s on your music playlist?

Alt. Rock, Alternative and Indie! Currently have been on an Arcade Fire, Mitski, and Imogen Heap kick!

What’s your favorite memory of ATEC?

My favorite memory at ATEC is a few of my classes, which were my Creativity class and Visual Story 1. I just had so much fun in those classes and really got to know a lot of great people!
