About Me

Hello, my name is Jonathan Aguayo! I am a Dallas-based sound designer specializing in designing sound for video games and music. My favorite kind of sound design is music production. In particular, I love making hip-hop instrumentals. Every time I create music, it relieves my constant stress, making me happy. I enjoy the thrill and joy of hearing my music, whether melancholic, serene, or aggressive. Still, I also love when other people enjoy and share the emotions I feel when making my sounds. When I’m not designing, I love hanging out with friends, being with family, and watching anime. I also love playing video games and listening to music.

Project Description

Adfectus is a short EP or mini-album that will contain three songs inspired by or based on the Hip-Hop genre. The EP aims to display different emotions using different audio cues, like tempo, melody, and instrumentation. Therefore, each song will showcase or induce a different feeling.

What is one piece of advice you would provide to new ATEC students?

Try to enjoy your college experience and always work hard at what you do. This industry can be harsh, and it won’t be an easy ride. So prepare yourself and make sure you do your best to perfect your craft. Also, try to be sociable and make friends, not only for your social life but also for connections. One of those friends can have links to important people, or one of them might become someone important in the industry.

What’s on your music playlist?

Artists like Drake, Doja Cat, Tame Impala, XXXTENTACION, Jack Harlow, Kanye West, The Weeknd, and Bruno Mars are typically on my music playlist. As for genres, I listen to Regional Mexican, Indie Pop, Hip-Hop, R&B, Mexican Cumbia, and Pop.
