About Me
My name is Marcelo, an illustrator and animator from Dallas who loves cool monsters and rodents of all kinds. I am always trying to experiment with my art and exploring new ways to get my ideas out into the world in as interesting a way as i can make it. I’m constantly trying to improve my work through practice and experimentation, but outside of that I’m usually soaking in all the media that I can or playing a good video game. Ask me about a kaiju film and I’ll talk your ears off.
Project Description
A Decree From the Stars is a short film about the end of our world at the hands of a monster that falls from the sky, and the thoughts that are running through the monster’s head as the earth reaches its end.
What’s on your music playlist?
I’m constantly listening to Bjork, Shintaro Sakamoto, The Flaming Lips, or King Crimson whenever I’m working. Whenever I want to listening to game soundtracks it’s always the soundtracks from either the Guilty Gear or the NiGHTS series. Sometimes I also like throwing on the Godzilla: Singular Point soundtrack too. My focus on music usually gets thrown around a lot so its never really the same thing twice.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I’m not too sure, I honestly don’t like looking that far ahead into the future because it scares me to think that I might not be there or that I might even have gone beyond where I wanted and lost myself in the process. Within a year I can see myself working on my own personal projects as I keep trying to break into the animation industry, two years and I’ve probably landed a spot somewhere and am working alongside other artists and creatives on projects and works that I want to pour all of my passion into. Anything past that is a mystery, but whatever it is I know I can find a way to make it even cooler.
